Associate Scientist

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking an Associate Scientist - Onsite for a 12+ month contract opportunity with a Major Pharmaceutical Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA.
Based at the client's headquarters, this role in Pivotal Drug Product Technologies will provide support for drug product formulation and process development of biologics. The candidate will work closely with a team of engineers and scientists responsible for the technical aspects of drug product commercialization and lifecycle management.
Responsibilities:

• Participate in the planning, design, execution, and documentation of studies related to drug product formulation and process development
• Support and conduct studies, e.g. UF/DF, filtration, freeze/thaw and fill/finish, for products in various formulations and formats
• Evaluate process and product performance through analytical testing (pH, conductivity, HPLC, etc.)
• Perform data analysis and documentation/review in electronic notebooks
• Author, review, and data verify technical documents such as protocols and reports
• Clearly and consistently communicate data in progress reports and presentations
• Participate in cross-functional teams to progress product development
• Adhere to all training, compliance, and safety guidance and support lab operations

Requirements:

• Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR Associate's degree and 4 years of experience OR High school diploma / GED and 6 years of experience
• Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, including familiarity with lab equipment (HPLC, densitometer, viscometer), techniques, and safety protocols
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively within a team
• Strong communication skills, including drafting technical reports, presenting study objectives, and facilitating discussions

Desired skills:

• Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Pharmaceutics, Materials Science, or related discipline
• Understanding of physical/chemical stability of proteins
• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, and keep accurate records
• Proficient computer skills
• Self-motivation, adaptability and a positive attitude
• Critical thinking, problem solving, and independent research skills
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail

Pay range: up to $28.85 per hour
