IDR is seeking a Senior Productization Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Boulder, CO. This role involves leading productization efforts for complex hardware systems within a cutting-edge technology environment, focusing on optical and photonic instrumentation. The company specializes in innovative hardware solutions for aerospace, defense, and research applications.

Position Overview for the Senior Productization Engineer:

• Responsible for translating technical requirements into executable plans for hardware productization
• Lead cross-disciplinary teams to ensure successful transition from development to manufacturing
• Develop and manage technical work breakdown structures, verification strategies, and readiness criteria
• Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to improve product manufacturability and reliability
• Play a key role in supporting customer proposals and technical scope definitions

Requirements for the Senior Productization Engineer:

• Master's or PhD in Physics, Optical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered
• 7+ years of experience in complex hardware development, integration, verification, productization, or production transition
• Experience working across optical, mechanical, electrical, software/firmware, test, and manufacturing interfaces
• Strong background in optical, photonic, precision instrumentation, quantum, aerospace, defense, or similarly complex hardware systems
• Demonstrated ability to translate technical concepts and requirements into executable engineering plans
