Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to lead a heavy civil underground utility project on the south side of the Houston metro. The ideal candidate will bring hands on experience in underground utilities. This is a company with a steady, growing book of underground utility work, and they want someone who can take a project and own it from the ground up

Key Responsibilities:

  • Run the day-to-day of the project: budget, schedule, subcontractor coordination, and overall delivery.

  • Work directly with engineers, municipal agencies, and clients to keep the job compliant and moving forward.

  • Direct field crews and superintendents, and stay hands-on with site visits to catch issues early.

  • Own safety and quality on the job, keeping the project aligned with OSHA and DOT standards.

  • Handle the paperwork side (change orders, RFIs, submittals) without letting it pile up.

  • Spot risks before they become problems and bring solutions, not just updates, to leadership.

  • Keep clients and senior management informed with clear, regular progress reporting.

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ yrs underground utility project experience is required.

  • Sanitary sewer experience is preferred, but broader wet utility experience will work too.

  • A track record with the City of Houston, Harris County Flood Control, or a regional water authority and surrounding municipalities stands out.

The Kind of Person Who Will Thrive Here:

Someone who sniffs out problems and runs them down without waiting to be told what to do. If you fold at the first roadblock or need constant direction, this isn't the role. If you take ownership and figure out the path forward yourself, it is.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary is based on experience

  • Truck + gas allowance

  • PTO

  • 401k

  • Bonus
