Job Description

Vaco is currently working with one of our top clients for an IT Director role based in Charlotte, NC. This is a full time placement role so the candidate must be W2 with no sponsorship. Local Charlotte, NC candidates are highly preferred as this role is hybrid on-site.

Leads IT strategy and delivery for a growing, family-owned company, balancing day-to-day operations with high-visibility projects including a next-generation platform build and technology modernization efforts, while developing a small team and partnering directly with executive leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own day-to-day IT operations and uptime, help desk/ticketing, company-wide cell phone program, security cameras, infrastructure and networking
  • Own new location rollouts and system integrations; legacy data quality is a known dependency
  • Direct ERP support and act as subject matter expert for point-of-sale technology
  • Build and maintain the annual IT budget and multi-year plan
  • Develop, mentor, and manage a team of 5 (one manager-level), with a real expectation to grow their careers
  • Success measured by: projects on time and on budget, business objectives supported, positive feedback from senior leadership and business owners
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor''s degree in information technology, computer science, or related field
  • 5+ years managing teams
  • 10+ years managing a major information processing function
  • Multi-location retail experience with point-of-sale systems
  • Strong communicator, not a fit for an introverted, heads-down profile
