Job Description

GIS Technician / Analyst

Seeking a GIS Technician/Analyst to support infrastructure mapping, asset management, and GIS applications. This role combines office and field work, including maintaining spatial data, creating maps and dashboards, and collecting field data using Trimble GPS/GNSS equipment.

*This role is onsite in Addison, TX*

Responsibilities

  • Maintain GIS databases, maps, and infrastructure asset data for water, wastewater, streets, and stormwater.

  • Collect and verify field data using Trimble GPS/GNSS equipment.

  • Perform spatial analysis, data quality checks, and resolve GIS data issues.

  • Create maps, reports, dashboards, and web maps.

  • Support ArcGIS applications and mobile tools, including Field Maps and Survey123.

  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and contractor teams on infrastructure and asset management projects.

  • Provide basic GIS support and training to staff.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree in GIS, Geography, Surveying, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or a related field.

  • 2+ years of GIS experience.

  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, enterprise GIS systems, and spatial database management.

  • Hands-on experience collecting field data using Trimble GPS/GNSS equipment.

  • Experience developing GIS applications, dashboards, and web maps.

Preferred Qualifications

  • GISP or Esri technical certifications.

  • Experience with SQL Server and relational databases.

  • Experience with Python, Arcade, or GIS automation.

  • Knowledge of municipal utilities and public works operations.

Technology Environment: ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Survey123, Trimble GPS/GNSS, Cityworks, SQL Server, and Microsoft 365.
