CMM Programmer / Mechanical Inspector I

Location: Hudson, MA

Pay: $32-$40/hour, based on experience

Job Type: Full-time

A defense manufacturer is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer/Mechanical Inspector to inspect precision components and assemblies supporting air, land, sea and space applications.

Responsibilities

• Program and operate CMM equipment.
• Perform mechanical and visual inspections of parts, components and assemblies.
• Complete first-piece, first-article, incoming and final inspections.
• Use equipment such as FARO Arm, Keyence Wide Area CMM, micrometers, height stands, optical comparators, thread and plug gauges, gauge blocks and plating thickness gauges.
• Document results and prepare formal inspection reports.
• Identify nonconforming products and follow up on corrective actions.
• Monitor quality trends and recommend improvements to inspection methods and equipment.
• Communicate with production personnel, customers and government representatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical school training.
• Minimum five years of inspection experience.
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
• Ability to program and operate coordinate measuring machines.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, solve problems, take initiative and work collaboratively.
