Job Description

Great Wolf Resorts is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Human Resources to lead our HR operations at our family-friendly indoor water park resorts. In this role, you will be tasked with overseeing HR strategies that support our mission to create family traditions, one family at a time, by fostering a culture of respect, kindness, and service. The successful candidate will ensure that our HR initiatives are innovative, effective, and well-aligned with our overall business objectives. Your leadership will be pivotal in driving employee engagement and retention, developing talent, and ensuring compliance with employment laws across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing demands, grievances or other issues.
  • Manage the recruitment and selection process to meet the high demands of growth within the hospitality industry.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation, and preservation of human capital.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics, and procedures across the organization.
  • Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system that drives high performance.
  • Maintain pay plan and benefits program.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.

Required Skills

  • Proven understanding of HR functions (staffing, training, compensation etc.)
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
