Software Engineer

Description

We are looking for a Software Engineer to support a growing technology organization in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This Contract opportunity is ideal for a developer who enjoys building custom applications, improving existing platforms, and contributing to modernization efforts in a collaborative environment. The role offers the chance to work across .NET , Java and AWS technologies while helping deliver scalable solutions that support critical business initiatives.

This is a contract opportunity with possibility for contract to hire/FTE.

Responsibilities

Create, enhance, and support custom software solutions using modern engineering practices across .NET and Java environments.

Partner with stakeholders and technical team members to understand business needs and turn them into effective application features and technical solutions.

Maintain and improve existing systems, internal tools, and connected applications to ensure reliable performance and usability.

Build and support APIs and application integrations that connect enterprise platforms and streamline data exchange.

Participate in testing, troubleshooting, code review, and deployment activities to maintain code quality and production stability.

Use GitHub and source control best practices to manage code changes and collaborate efficiently with the broader development team.

Contribute to cloud-related development work and broader technology modernization initiatives as priorities evolve.

Prepare clear technical documentation for application logic, development workflows, and implemented solutions.

The ideal Software Engineer will have

3+ years of software engineering experience in application development environments.

Hands-on experience with .NET and C# for designing and delivering business applications.

Working proficiency in Java and the ability to contribute across multi-language development efforts.

Experience developing or consuming RESTful APIs and web services.

Familiarity with software development lifecycle best practices, including testing and release support.

Experience using GitHub or a comparable version control platform in a team setting.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Exposure to AWS or other cloud technologies is preferred.

Background required prior to employment
