Job Description

Job Summary: Product Owner – Insurance Domain

- Location: Bridgewater, NJ (Local candidates only)
- Experience Required: 10+ years

Key Responsibilities:
- Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and priorities.
- Define and maintain product roadmaps, release plans, and sprint objectives.
- Lead backlog refinement, story grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and other Agile ceremonies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and prioritize product enhancements.
- Partner with Scrum Masters and development teams for successful sprint execution.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and solution requirements.
- Create and manage epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, business process flows, and functional specifications.
- Clearly communicate business context and requirements to development and QA teams.
- Facilitate workshops, process discussions, and requirements review sessions.
- Utilize Targetprocess and other Agile tools for backlog management, release planning, and agile reporting.
- Lead estimation exercises using T-Shirt Sizing, Story Points, and relative estimation techniques.
- Support sprint forecasting, dependency management, and release planning.
- Identify and manage product risks, impediments, and mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with business and technology teams in areas such as Policy Administration, Claims Management, Underwriting, Billing & Payments, Customer Experience, and Agency/Broker Operations.
- Drive modernization and digital transformation initiatives within insurance platforms.
- Ensure regulatory, compliance, and operational requirements are met.
- Collaborate with teams to identify Generative AI and Agentic AI opportunities in insurance operations.
- Participate in defining and translating AI business use cases into product features and backlog items.
- Evaluate business value, risks, governance, and compliance for AI-enabled solutions.

Essential Skills:
- Product Ownership in Insurance Domain
- Business Analysis and Requirement Elicitation
- Backlog and Stakeholder Management
- Agile Scrum Framework and SAFe Agile (preferred)
- Release Planning and Roadmap Development
- UAT Support and User Story Mapping
- Experience with Targetprocess or similar Agile tools

AI & Emerging Technology Skills:
- Basic knowledge of Generative AI, Agentic AI, LLMs, and Prompt Engineering
- Understanding of AI-powered product management and responsible AI principles
- Ability to identify and document AI-driven business opportunities

Domain Expertise:
- Deep understanding of insurance operations: Policy Administration, Claims, Underwriting, Billing, Customer Experience, and Agency/Broker Operations
