Position: Confluent Engineer
Location: Remote 
Duration: Long Term Contract

Required Skills

• 6+ years of experience in software/data engineering with strong Apache Kafka experience.
• Hands-on experience with Confluent Platform and/or Confluent Cloud.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Kafka Brokers
• Topics and Partitions
• Replication
• Consumer Groups
• Offset Management
• Producer/Consumer APIs
• Strong experience with Kafka Connect and connectors.
• Experience with Schema Registry.
• Experience with Avro, JSON, and/or Protobuf.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka Streams and/or ksqlDB.
• Strong programming experience in Java, Python, or Scala.
• Experience with REST APIs and enterprise application integration.
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
• Knowledge of CDC/Debezium is highly desirable.
• Experience with Kafka security including SSL/TLS, SASL, and ACLs.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong Linux/Unix troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, or equivalent.
