Lead Software Engineer Cloud, AI/ML & Full Stack (Node.js, React, AWS CDK and Kotlin)

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive the architecture, design, and delivery of scalable, cloud-native, and AI-enabled software platforms. This role is intended for a highly accomplished individual contributor who will lead complex technical initiatives, establish long-term technology direction, and influence engineering decisions across multiple teams.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Node.js, React, Kotlin, AWS, AI/ML, and AWS CDK, along with strong experience designing distributed systems and leading large-scale software development initiatives. This individual will serve as a technical leader and may act as the Lead Engineer for strategic engineering programs without direct people-management responsibility.

<>Key Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud-native applications and platforms.
• Design and evolve complex distributed systems using modern software engineering principles and AWS cloud technologies.
• Own and influence architecture decisions, technical standards, and long-term technology roadmaps.
• Lead the development of AI/ML-enabled platforms, services, and application capabilities.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple engineering teams and drive alignment on architecture, design, integration, and engineering execution.
• Break down complex and ambiguous business or technical challenges into scalable, actionable, and well-defined engineering solutions.
• Develop and maintain high-quality backend services using Node.js and Kotlin.
• Design and build modern, responsive user interfaces using React.
• Develop and manage cloud infrastructure using AWS CDK and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Establish and promote engineering best practices related to system design, code quality, security, reliability, scalability, observability, and performance.
• Lead technical design reviews and provide expert guidance on complex architectural and engineering decisions.
• Mentor and influence multiple engineers by providing technical direction, design guidance, and development support.
• Drive technical strategy and contribute to long-term platform modernization, cloud adoption, and engineering transformation initiatives.
• Identify and resolve complex system-level issues involving architecture, performance, scalability, reliability, and cross-platform integration.
• Partner with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, architects, and engineering leadership to align technical solutions with business priorities.
• Drive continuous improvements in engineering processes, development standards, automation, and software delivery practices.

<>Required Qualifications

• 8 12+ years of professional software engineering experience, including experience leading complex technical initiatives.
• Strong expertise in designing and building large-scale distributed systems, cloud-native applications, and highly scalable software platforms.
• Extensive hands-on experience with AWS architecture, cloud services, and cloud-native development.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js, React, and Kotlin.
• Experience designing, developing, or integrating AI/ML platforms, services, or AI-enabled application capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with AWS CDK and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Demonstrated experience owning architecture decisions and influencing technical direction across multiple engineering teams.
• Strong system design expertise, including scalability, availability, resilience, performance, security, and distributed systems principles.
• Proven ability to lead complex technical initiatives and drive execution in ambiguous or evolving environments.
• Experience leading technical design reviews, establishing engineering standards, and driving best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and provide technical leadership to multiple engineers.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and technical decision-making skills.
• Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and engineering teams without direct people-management authority.
