Our client is a well-established UK company with multiple consumer brands, moving off a long standing third party platform onto one they have built themselves. This is a large scale migration, well over 100,000 active customers, delivered as a single cutover within the year, followed by the launch of a new embedded payments product.

This is a hands-on, business facing role. You will own the operational readiness and execution of the migration itself: customer communications, what happens in the business on day one, week one and beyond, and making sure the organisation is genuinely ready to go live. You will work by leveraging existing in-house and offshore engineering resource rather than leading a dedicated delivery team, and you will sit close to the founder and C-suite, managing up directly and comfortably.

Data and payment token migration is being delivered by specialist resource, but you need to be technical enough to challenge, assure and hold that workstream to account without it needing to be translated for you.

This suits someone who has genuinely run large scale migrations end to end, who is comfortable without a big PMO or team behind them, and who thrives operating close to founders in a fast moving, low hierarchy environment.

What you'll be doing

• Owning the overall migration plan and delivery approach for a single, full scale cutover
• Leading operational readiness: customer comms, journey planning, and the practical execution of migration in the business
• Assuring the data and payment migration workstream is properly resourced, low risk and on track, without owning its delivery yourself
• Managing upward to founder and C-suite level, and working closely with the CTO
• Leading the subsequent launch of a new embedded payments proposition

What you'll bring

• Genuine experience delivering a large scale customer migration (100,000+ customers) end to end, from strategy through to business execution
• Comfort operating without a dedicated delivery team, leading through influence across in-house and offshore resource
• Strong technical grounding, able to read a schema and hold a specialist payments or data migration workstream to account
• A track record managing up to founder or C-suite level, with the resilience for direct, challenging communication styles
• Experience in e-commerce, embedded finance, or a comparably regulated, high consequence environment is a strong plus

Hybrid role, 3-4 days per week in high-end Central London office, strong preference for regular in-person presence given the pace and sensitivity of the programme.
