Software Engineer - Angular & Android

About the Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our technology team based in the office (on-site) in Wollongong. This is a hands-on role focused on the development, enhancement and maintenance of our software applications across web and mobile platforms.

The role will have a particular focus on Angular web development and Android application development, while also contributing to broader software development, system integration and technical improvement across the business.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, develop practical technical solutions and support the ongoing improvement of our software systems.

What You'll Be Doing

• Design, develop, test and maintain software applications and systems.
• Develop and enhance web applications using Angular and TypeScript.
• Develop, maintain and improve Android applications.
• Analyse business and technical requirements and translate them into software solutions.
• Design and implement new features, functionality and system enhancements.
• Write clean, efficient and maintainable code.
• Integrate applications with APIs, databases and other systems.
• Identify and resolve software defects, technical issues and performance problems.
• Conduct testing and debugging to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design through to development, testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Maintain technical documentation and development records.
• Review existing systems and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Assist with software deployment, implementation and ongoing technical support.
• Work collaboratively with other team members and internal stakeholders to deliver software solutions.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Based in Wollongong or relocating soon
• A relevant qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Demonstrated professional experience in software development.
• Experience with Angular and TypeScript.
• Experience with Android application development.
• Strong understanding of software development principles and practices.
• Experience working with APIs, databases and software integrations.
• Experience with version control and software development tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to troubleshoot technical issues and develop practical solutions.
• An understanding of software testing and quality assurance.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Desirable

Experience with any of the following will be highly regarded:

• Java and/or Kotlin
• REST APIs and web services
• SQL and relational databases
• Git or other version control systems
• Cloud technologies
• Automated testing
• Mobile and web application deployment
