Business Data Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Business Data Specialist in Columbia, MO. Candidates must be able to work onsite in Columbia, MO every other week.

Summary:
Are you passionate about turning data into meaningful business insights? We are seeking a Business Data Specialist to help stakeholders make informed decisions by analyzing data, identifying trends, and delivering actionable recommendations. This role partners with teams across the organization to improve business performance, enhance reporting capabilities, and support strategic initiatives.

Essential Functions:
* Analyze business and operational data to uncover trends, opportunities, and performance insights
* Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that help leaders make better decisions
* Collaborate with business partners to understand challenges and recommend data-driven solutions
* Gather, organize, and validate information from multiple sources to support analytical projects
* Translate complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations for both technical and non-technical audiences

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred; Advanced degree is a plus
* 4+ years of experience in data analytics, business analysis, reporting, or a similar role
* Strong experience working with large datasets and transforming data into meaningful insights
* Proficiency in SQL or other data querying tools
* Experience with business intelligence and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, Qlik, or similar tools
* Familiarity with data modeling, reporting best practices, and data management concepts
* Excellent communication and presentation abilities with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
* Experience using Python, R, or other analytical tools is a plus
* Knowledge of metrics, reporting, and business processes within regulated or service-based industries is helpful
* Experience with modern data development, governance, or documentation tools is beneficial

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
