Job Title: Middleware & Cloud Administrator (JBoss EAP)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Middleware & Cloud Administrator with strong expertise in JBoss EAP administration, AWS, Linux Shell Scripting, and Java. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, administering, and optimizing enterprise middleware environments while ensuring high availability, security, and performance. This role requires close collaboration with infrastructure, development, security, and cloud teams to support mission-critical enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, administer, and support JBoss EAP 8.x environments in both Standalone and Domain modes across Development, Test, and Production environments.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage enterprise Java applications (WAR/EAR) while ensuring availability, scalability, and security.
  • Configure and maintain JBoss clustering, session replication, failover, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Monitor middleware environments, analyze logs, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root cause analysis.
  • Optimize middleware performance through JVM tuning, thread management, connection pool tuning, and performance optimization.
  • Configure and maintain SSL/TLS certificates, security domains, authentication, authorization, and Active Directory/LDAP integration.
  • Design, configure, and support IBM DataPower gateways, XML/SOAP services, and enterprise security policies.
  • Administer IBM MQ infrastructure, including JMS resources, queues, topics, connection factories, and messaging integrations with Kafka and other enterprise platforms.
  • Develop and maintain Linux Shell Scripts to automate deployments, monitoring, administration, and operational tasks.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments and improve release efficiency.
  • Execute production deployments, maintenance activities, and infrastructure changes following change management processes.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, architecture diagrams, solution designs, technical specifications, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, security, cloud, and development teams to deliver secure and scalable enterprise solutions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, technical design reviews, and release planning.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements for middleware modernization initiatives.
  • Mentor junior engineers and establish middleware administration standards, governance, and best practices.

Required Skills

  • Strong experience administering JBoss EAP 8.x
  • Hands-on experience with Linux Shell Scripting
  • Strong knowledge of Java application deployments (WAR/EAR)
  • Experience with AWS Cloud Administration
  • Expertise in JVM tuning, performance optimization, clustering, and high availability
  • Experience with SSL/TLS, LDAP, Active Directory integration, authentication, and authorization
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience supporting enterprise production environments
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7+ years of experience in Middleware Administration, Application Server Administration, or Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Strong experience administering enterprise Java middleware platforms.
  • Experience supporting cloud-based enterprise environments, preferably AWS.
  • Experience working in highly available, mission-critical production environments.
