responsibilities:

Assess escalated and multi-technology incidents involving network, server, database, desktop, security, connectivity, storage, backup, and application environments; determine root cause and implement appropriate corrective action.


Administer, configure, operate, and maintain physical and virtual Windows and Linux server environments, enterprise applications, server-based security tools, storage, backup, replication, and related infrastructure services.


Install and configure network and server assets, including routers, switches, circuits, servers, peripherals, services, directories, storage, permissions, and third-party applications.


Provide Tier 3 support for issues escalated by Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams and collaborate through resolution and ticket closure.


Monitor system health, hardware integrity, capacity, logs, key processes, availability, and performance; document statistics and identify emerging risks before they become service-impacting events.


Perform root cause analysis and lead incident response activities in accordance with Level III infrastructure processes.


Participate in a rotational on-call schedule for critical after-hours server and infrastructure requests.


Protect confidential member and organizational data and consistently meet or exceed technology service-level expectations.


Infrastructure Design & Project Responsibilities Gather and translate business, technical, security, and vendor requirements into practical infrastructure designs and implementation plans.


Contribute to backend architecture for multi-month initiatives, including hardware and software selection, procurement coordination, environment builds, integration, testing, go-live, and stabilization support.


Develop detailed plans, procedures, schedules, milestones, and goals for initiatives with a three- to nine-month horizon.


Coordinate work among infrastructure subject matter experts, project managers, business-unit representatives, security partners, identity and access teams, and third-party vendors.


Support disaster recovery, failover, replication, and business-continuity strategies and testing.


Execute approved change-management activities, application updates, patches, upgrades, and infrastructure modifications with appropriate validation and documentation.


Manage multiple projects or assignments simultaneously while maintaining timely stakeholder communication and escalating risks or disagreements when needed.


Continuous Improvement & Documentation Identify and implement incremental improvements that increase reliability, security, efficiency, supportability, and customer satisfaction.


Advise management on needed changes to infrastructure hardware, software, applications, processes, and standards.


Develop and maintain technical procedures, flowcharts, schematics, installation documentation, operational runbooks, and inventory records.


Improve workflows, productivity, backlog management, monitoring, and reporting using structured and systematic approaches.


Stay current on infrastructure technologies, risks, regulations, vendor capabilities, and industry practices relevant to the environment.




qualifications:

- Advanced working knowledge of enterprise infrastructure administration and support across several of the following areas: Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, networking, storage, backup/replication, databases, monitoring, security applications, and enterprise application platforms.


- Ability to diagnose complex technical conditions, connect multiple data points, identify immediate cause-and-effect relationships, and explain the rationale for a recommended action.


- Experience executing infrastructure changes through formal change-management, testing, implementation, and stabilization processes.


- Ability to build detailed technical plans and carry assignments through a three- to nine-month work horizon.


- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate technical information for business stakeholders and document procedures clearly.


- Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and vendors without direct managerial authority.


- Ability to manage competing priorities, meet milestones, and operate effectively during incidents and after-hours support events.


- Commitment to customer service, data confidentiality, regulatory compliance, risk management, and continuous professional development.


Preferred:


- Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.


- Demonstrated experience in an enterprise infrastructure, systems engineering, network engineering, data center, or senior technical support role.


- Experience with infrastructure architecture/design, disaster recovery, vendor-led implementations, and integrated production go-lives.


- Relevant technical certifications in Microsoft, Linux, Cisco, Aruba, VMware, cloud, storage, backup, database, or security technologies.
