Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior IT Business Analyst to support strategic initiatives within the Utility Transmission organization. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Electric Utility/Transmission environments, with hands-on business analysis experience supporting GE Energy Management System (EMS) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) initiatives.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, transmission/operations teams, and technical teams to gather and document requirements, analyze business processes, perform GAP analysis, support solution design, and coordinate testing and UAT activities throughout the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead requirements-gathering workshops with business stakeholders, transmission/operations teams, and technical teams.
  • Support GE EMS and ADMS initiatives, including requirements analysis, business process analysis, enhancements, integrations, and system changes.
  • Conduct GAP analysis and document AS-IS and TO-BE business processes.
  • Develop user stories, use cases, functional specifications, process maps, and Requirements Traceability Matrices (RTMs).
  • Translate business requirements into functional and technical requirements and work closely with development and QA teams throughout the SDLC.
  • Participate in solution design discussions involving EMS, ADMS, utility operations, and related systems/integrations.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for process improvement and business process re-engineering.
  • Develop test plans, manual test cases, and UAT scenarios based on documented business requirements.
  • Coordinate with business users during UAT and support defect identification, clarification, and resolution.
  • Maintain comprehensive project, functional, requirements, and testing documentation.
  • Facilitate communication between business stakeholders, utility operations, product/technical teams, developers, and QA teams.

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst.
  • Hands-on experience supporting Electric Utility, Transmission, Energy, or Operational Technology (OT) environments.
  • Experience with GE Energy Management System (GE EMS).
  • Experience with Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
  • Strong understanding of utility operational processes and systems supporting electric transmission/distribution operations.
  • Strong experience in requirements elicitation, stakeholder workshops, and business process analysis.
  • Proven experience documenting AS-IS and TO-BE process flows and conducting GAP analysis.
  • Experience creating user stories, functional specifications, use cases, process maps, and RTMs.
  • Hands-on experience across the SDLC, including requirements, testing, test planning, defect management, and UAT support.
  • Working knowledge of Waterfall methodology, business process re-engineering, and basic database/software concepts.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, analytical, and documentation skills.
