Associate Product Manager - Services Central
How will you make an impact? The Associate Product Manager will support the continued development and expansion of the Services Central platform for MSD, with a primary focus on Phase 2 capabilities. Services Central is intended to simplify and improve the digital service experience for customers by providing a more consistent way to access service information, support workflows, documentation, training, and other digital service capabilities.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role well suited to an individual with approximately 3-5 years of professional experience who is interested in building broader experience across product management, project management, digital platforms, and business transformation.
Working closely with product leadership, project management, IT, service operations, commercial teams, subject matter experts, and regional stakeholders, you will help coordinate activities, document requirements, track actions and dependencies, support testing and implementation, and keep workstreams moving toward agreed milestones. The successful candidate will help product and project leaders translate priorities into organized, actionable work and ensure that teams have the information, documentation, and coordination needed to deliver. What will you do?
Product and Requirements Support
Support Phase 2 Services Central workstreams, including:
eCommerce integration
Research business processes, customer needs, competitive practices to support product decisions. Customer-facing documentation enablement
Customer-facing training integration
Integration with MSD service and software portals
AI Virtual Assistant and supporting service documentation capabilities
Work with subject matter experts to gather, clarify, and document business, customer, and user requirements.
Translate requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, workflow descriptions & process documentation
Assist the Product Manager with maintaining feature lists, backlog information, and delivery documentation. Collect feedback from internal stakeholders/users and organize findings for review with product leadership. Project Coordination
Organize and support workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder reviews
Capture meeting notes, document decisions, assign actions, and follow up with owners.
Coordinate follow-up activities to help ensure actions and deliverables remain on schedule. Identify potential risks and unresolved decisions and raise them to project leadership in a timely manner. Help maintain project documentation and ensure materials are available in the appropriate shared locations. Testing and Implementation Support
Assist with user acceptance testing, and business validation activities. Work with business users and subject matter experts to organize testing feedback and open issues. Support business readiness and launch activities for new Services Central capabilities.
Assist with training, stakeholder enablement, and other activities associated with implementation. Support post-launch feedback collection and help document enhancement opportunities. Reporting and Generalist Support
Prepare regular project and product status updates for working teams and leadership. Develop presentations, process maps, and trackers to communicate progress and support decision-making. Help track adoption, usage, customer experience or other agreed performance measures. Support project leadership with ad hoc analysis and coordination activities as priorities evolve.
Contribute to maintaining clear documentation of decisions, requirements, open items, risks, and next steps. Key Deliverables
During the assignment, the Associate Product Manager is expected to contribute to:
Documented requirements and workflows for assigned Phase 2 deliverables. User stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting feature documentation. Workshop materials, meeting documentation, and stakeholder follow-up. Product and project status updates. Business readiness, communications, training, and adoption-support activities. Phase 2 implementation and launch documentation.
Product documentation and handover materials covering completed work, open items, risks, and next steps. How will you get here? Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Science, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant professional experience. Experience
Approximately 3-5 years of professional experience in product management, project coordination, business operations, digital programs, marketing, customer experience, IT/business projects, or a related field.
Experience supporting cross-functional projects involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities. Experience gathering and documenting business requirements, processes, actions, or project deliverables. Exposure to digital products, software platforms, customer portals, eCommerce, service operations, or technology-enabled business processes is preferred. Experience supporting testing, implementation, product launches, change management, or business-readiness activities is beneficial. Experience working in a large or matrixed organization is helpful but not required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong organizational and project-coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple assignments, deadlines, and follow-up activities at the same time. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working with stakeholders from different functions and levels of the organization. Ability to take complex or loosely defined information and organize it into clear documentation and next steps. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Willingness to ask questions, learn quickly, and work with subject matter experts in unfamiliar areas.
Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to identify when an issue should be escalated. Comfortable preparing presentations, project updates, trackers, meeting materials, and other documentation. Working knowledge of productivity and collaboration tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint. Fluent in English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience or exposure in one or more of the following areas is beneficial but not required:
Customer service portals or digital customer experiences
eCommerce
Customer-facing documentation or knowledge-management platforms
Learning-management systems or digital training
AI-enabled customer-support tools
Service case management or field service processes
B2B digital platforms
Scientific instrumentation, capital equipment, industrial technology, or technical service organizations
Direct experience with electron microscopy, focused ion beam systems, or MSD products is not required.
An interest in learning the business, customer workflows, and Services Central platform is more important. Assignment Details
This is a project-based contingent assignment supporting the Services Central initiative, with primary emphasis on Phase 2 planning, coordination, development support, testing, and readiness activities. The individual will work closely with colleagues across European and U.S. time zones, with additional regional coordination as needed. Limited domestic or international travel may be required depending on project needs.
Specific responsibilities and priorities may evolve as Phase 2 requirements, dependencies, and delivery plans are finalized.
