Job Title: PeopleSoft Technical Consultant HRMS/Payroll (70%) & Kronos (30%) Location: Remote (USA) Engagement Type: Contract | Urgent Need Start Date: Immediate
About the Role
We are urgently seeking an experienced PeopleSoft Technical Consultant with a primary focus on HRMS and Payroll (70%) and supporting expertise in Kronos (UKG) Workforce Management (30%). This is a fully remote engagement requiring a self-driven professional who can hit the ground running with minimal ramp-up time.
The ideal candidate is first and foremost a strong PeopleSoft technical developer with deep payroll domain knowledge, and additionally brings hands-on experience integrating and supporting Kronos time & attendance data within the PeopleSoft ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
PeopleSoft HRMS & Payroll 70%
  • Design, develop, and support PeopleSoft HRMS and Payroll for North America (NA Payroll) modules including Core HR, Benefits Administration, Time & Labor, and Absence Management
  • Develop and customize PeopleSoft components using PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, Component Interface, and Integration Broker
  • Build and maintain PS Queries, BI Publisher reports, and Crystal Reports for HR and Payroll business needs
  • Support end-to-end payroll processing including pay cycle execution, tax calculations, garnishments, deductions, retro pay, and off-cycle payroll runs
  • Participate in payroll parallel testing, UAT cycles, and production payroll runs
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to payroll calculations, batch processes, and HR data integrity
  • Collaborate with functional consultants and business stakeholders to translate HR/Payroll requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Perform data conversions, inbound/outbound file interfaces, and support PeopleSoft system upgrades and PeopleTools patch applications
  • Document technical designs, code changes, test scripts, and integration specifications
  • Provide production support and resolve P1/P2 incidents within defined SLAs
Kronos (UKG) Integration & Support 30%
  • Support and maintain integrations between Kronos (UKG) Workforce Central / UKG Pro and PeopleSoft, ensuring accurate time and attendance data flows into payroll
  • Perform configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Kronos Workforce Integration Manager (WIM) interfaces
  • Assist with Kronos timekeeping rules, accruals, and pay code configuration as it relates to PeopleSoft Payroll processing
  • Manage inbound/outbound file transfers and resolve interface errors between Kronos and PeopleSoft Time & Labor
  • Support Kronos upgrades, patches, and environment refreshes in coordination with the PeopleSoft team
Required Qualifications
PeopleSoft (Primary Must Have)
  • 6+ years of PeopleSoft technical development experience
  • Strong hands-on expertise in PeopleSoft HRMS and NA Payroll this is the primary requirement
  • Proficiency in PeopleCode, Application Engine, SQR, Component Interface, Integration Broker (IB)
  • Solid experience with PS Query, BI Publisher / XML Publisher reporting
  • Deep understanding of payroll business processes: pay cycles, garnishments, tax setup, deductions, and off-cycle payroll
  • Experience with the Time & Labor (TL) module and its integration with NA Payroll
  • Strong knowledge of PeopleTools 8.55+
  • Strong SQL skills (Oracle / SQL Server) for data analysis, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
  • Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment with excellent written and verbal communication
Kronos / UKG (Secondary Required)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Kronos Workforce Central or UKG Pro
  • Familiarity with Kronos-to-PeopleSoft integration patterns and file-based interfaces
  • Working knowledge of Kronos timekeeping configuration, pay rules, and accrual policies
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Kronos Workforce Integration Manager (WIM) or integration middleware such as Dell Boomi or MuleSoft
  • Exposure to PeopleSoft HCM 9.2 implementation or upgrade projects
  • Familiarity with Fluid UI and PeopleSoft mobile framework
  • Knowledge of ADP, Ceridian, or other third-party payroll integrations
  • Prior experience in government, healthcare, or large enterprise environments
  • PeopleSoft or UKG/Kronos certification is a plus
