Location: Bergen, New Jersey

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Spring Boot Technical Specialist / Java Full Stack Developer to contribute to the architectural design, development, and deployment of Java/J2EE applications, RESTful services, and Spring Boot projects.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java 17, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, REST APIs, microservices, IBM MQ, Apache Kafka, and scalable application architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement Java/J2EE applications and RESTful services based on business requirements.
  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable microservices using Java 17 and Spring Boot.
  • Architect and lead the development of scalable and secure solutions using Spring Boot.
  • Build reactive and non-blocking applications using Spring WebFlux and Project Reactor.
  • Develop and consume RESTful APIs following industry best practices, including proper documentation, versioning, and error handling.
  • Implement event-driven architecture using IBM MQ and Apache Kafka for asynchronous communication between services.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, architects, product owners, and other cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Analyze technical requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following coding standards and best practices.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Conduct performance tuning and application troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective fixes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for optimization and automation.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful services, microservices, and cloud technologies.

Mandatory Technical Skills

Java 17

  • Expert-level understanding of Java 17 features, including records, sealed classes, pattern matching, and enhanced switch expressions.

Spring Boot

  • Strong hands-on experience building production-grade applications using Spring Boot.

Spring WebFlux

  • Proficiency in developing reactive and non-blocking applications using Spring WebFlux and Project Reactor.

REST APIs

  • Expertise in designing, developing, and securing RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with API versioning and error handling.

Microservices

  • Solid experience with microservices architecture.
  • Knowledge of service discovery, API gateways, circuit breakers, and distributed tracing.

IBM MQ

  • Hands-on experience with IBM MQ for enterprise messaging and integration.

Apache Kafka

  • Strong knowledge of Kafka for building event-driven systems.
  • Experience with producers, consumers, and stream processing.

Core Technical Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Java/J2EE technologies such as JSP, Servlets, JPA, and Hibernate.
  • Strong experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot.
  • Hands-on expertise in designing and implementing scalable architecture solutions.
  • Good understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Strong knowledge of ORM frameworks.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools for continuous integration and deployment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good-to-Have Skills

MongoDB

  • Experience with MongoDB for NoSQL database design, queries, and aggregation pipelines.

AWS Cloud

  • Familiarity with AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, ECS, and RDS.

OpenShift

  • Experience deploying and managing applications on OpenShift or similar container platforms.

Kubernetes

Certifications
