Overview / Job Summary:

The Adjunct Faculty Instructor for Short Term Health courses provides essential subject matter expertise and is responsible for teaching courses designed to prepare students for immediate employment in health-related fields.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Manage and supervise students in all assigned classroom and lab activities and clinicals to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Provide clear course objectives and maintain open communication with students regarding content, requirements, and evaluation procedures.
  • Develop, revise, and recommend curriculum enhancements to meet course objectives and improve student learning outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to WSU Tech Course Standards by employing effective teaching methods and reflecting current practices in health care.
  • Create a supportive and engaging classroom atmosphere conducive to student success.

Education:

  • PN Technical Certificate required for LPN, Associates degree required or BSN for RN.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

  • Experience in the health care field, particularly in short-term health education required.
  • Previous teaching or training experience in adult education preferred.
  • Current certifications related to health care professions, such as CPR, First Aid, or specific clinical skills, are an advantage.
  • Strong communication skills both verbally and in writing, with the ability to engage and inspire students.
  • Familiarity with digital learning platforms and willingness to utilize hybrid teaching methods as needed.
