The opportunity:

Are you an experienced RN and nursing educator with a specialty in obstetrics, maternal health, and pediatrics looking for meaningful, flexible contract work? Stepful is seeking a Virtual Didactic Instructor to deliver synchronous online instruction for our Board of Nursing–approved Practical Nursing program in Ohio.

This is a fully remote, 1099 contract role — teach from anywhere, as long as you hold an active Ohio RN license (or a compact state license that includes Ohio) and are available during our scheduled class times. It’s a great fit for experienced nursing educators, including those currently teaching in adjunct roles, who want flexible contract teaching work that fits around their schedule.

Schedule & Logistics:
Didactic sessions take place Monday through Thursday, 4:30–7:00pm ET. This is a fully virtual role — no travel or on-site presence required. If you’re based in the Columbus, Ohio area and interested in teaching in-person skills labs in addition to didactic instruction, there may be opportunities for that as well.

What you’ll do:

• Deliver live virtual instruction — teach synchronous didactic sessions in maternal health and pediatric nursing via Stepful’s online learning platform

• Engage and support students — facilitate active learning, answer student questions in real time, and foster a positive and supportive virtual classroom environment

• Act as a subject matter expert — bring your specialty clinical knowledge in maternal health and pediatrics into the classroom to prepare students for real-world practice and licensure

• Provide timely feedback — grade assignments and assessments and return constructive feedback to support student progress

What you’ll bring:

• 2+ years of experience as faculty in an RN or LPN education program

• Specialty clinical experience in pediatrics, obstetrics, mental health and/or maternal health

• 2+ years of professional experience as a Registered Nurse, with 5+ years of varied nursing experience across clinical practice, nursing education, and/or administration

• Master's degree in nursing (MSN)

• Active, unencumbered Ohio RN license

• Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners

The hourly pay rate for this opportunity is $50.00/hour. Individual pay may vary from the target range and is determined by a number of factors including experience, internal pay equity and other relevant business considerations.
