Job Description:

Modernization and tech debt reduction efforts focused on middleware services, SOAP-to-REST evolution, Azure modernization, and API development.

Day-to-Day

• Work primarily in 2-week sprint cycles.
• Own development work from design through deployment.
• Collaborate directly with architects, SMEs, and technical leadership to refine requirements.
• Develop, test, deploy, and support solutions.
• Review and remediate security findings.
• Participate in sprint ceremonies and team collaboration.
• Roughly:

o    80% hands-on engineering

o    20% meetings, planning, ceremonies

• Contribute to modernization and tech debt reduction initiatives.
• Support production issues and maintenance related to owned components.

Must-Haves (In Order of Importance)

1. Java

• Deep Java expertise is critical.
• Strong object-oriented development experience.

2. Spring Boot

• Enterprise application development.
• REST API development.

3. DevOps Experience

Must understand:

• CI/CD processes
• Release management
• Containerization
• Software delivery lifecycle

Technologies:

• Docker
• Build/deployment pipelines

4. Security Knowledge

Must understand:

• Secure coding practices
• OWASP principles
• Vulnerability remediation
• Security scanning outputs

Must be comfortable with:

• REST APIs

Not a true UI-heavy full-stack role.

Primary focus remains API and middleware services.
