A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Mainframe Programmer
Position type: Full-time, contract
Duration:  18 months
Location:  Gary Indiana 46402
About the Role:
We're looking for a Mainframe Programmer who thrives in a dynamic support environment and enjoys solving complex business and technical challenges.
What You'll Bring:
Experience
  • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in Mainframe technologies.
  • Ideal for professionals who have built a strong technical foundation and are looking to deepen their expertise in enterprise support environments.
  • This role is best suited for mid-level talent with practical experience rather than highly senior professionals.

Technical Expertise:
  • Solid experience working with Mainframe systems, including day-to-day support and operational activities.
  • Strong working knowledge of COBOL with the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, support, and maintain applications.
  • Experience with DB2 databases, including data analysis, query execution, issue investigation, and production support.
  • Exposure to .NET-supported environments is beneficial; however, this is primarily a support-focused role and not a software development position.
  • Ability to understand business workflows, support critical business processes, and ensure seamless application performance.

Industry Knowledge:
  • Experience within the Manufacturing industry will be a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing operations, process flows, and enterprise systems will help you make an immediate impact.

What You'll Do:
  • Support and maintain business-critical Mainframe applications.
  • Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand workflows and provide effective system support.
  • Ensure the stability, reliability, and performance of applications and databases that drive core business functions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while helping keep mission-critical operations running smoothly.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*:  $50.00 - $57.69 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
