Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Developer with 8+ years of professional software engineering experience and strong hands-on expertise in GraphQL API development, backend engineering, and modern frontend technologies.

The ideal candidate must have experience designing and delivering production-ready GraphQL APIs, developing scalable backend services, and building frontend applications using Angular or React.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and API contracts.

• Implement GraphQL federation, schema stitching, subscriptions, batching, and caching.

• Optimize API performance and address query complexity and N+1 problems.

• Develop REST APIs with versioning, OpenAPI documentation, and backward compatibility.

• Build backend services using Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Java, or .NET.

• Develop frontend functionality using Angular or React with TypeScript.

• Work with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, Aurora, and DynamoDB.

• Implement authentication, authorization, and role-based access controls.

• Deploy and operate cloud-based applications using AWS or Azure.

• Work with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AppSync, and Cognito or equivalent services.

• Implement unit, integration, and contract testing.

• Monitor applications using logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting.

• Troubleshoot production issues and ensure application reliability.

• Collaborate with architects, data engineers, and engineering teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• Strong hands-on experience designing and shipping production GraphQL APIs.

• Expertise in GraphQL schema design and resolver implementation.

• Experience with Apollo Server, AWS AppSync, or equivalent.

• Strong backend development experience with Node.js/TypeScript, Python, Java, or .NET.

• Frontend development experience with Angular or React and TypeScript.

• Experience with REST APIs, OpenAPI, and event-driven architecture.

• Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Aurora, DynamoDB, or similar databases.

• Experience with AWS/Azure cloud services and serverless architecture.

• Strong understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization.

• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and production debugging.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with public sector, SLED, state/local government, or higher education clients.

• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Requirements

• Must physically reside in the United States.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

• Background check required.

• Occasional travel within the DC Metro area for customer engagements and team on-sites.
