Job description

The Role

Our central Sustainability team is a core group function that oversees environmental reporting across every area of the business. From NEXT own-brand and wholly owned labels to licensed ranges and our Total Platform partners, our work ensures clear and transparent corporate reporting.

As Reporting Assistant, based at our Head Office in Enderby, you will play a key part in coordinating and preparing corporate sustainability disclosures across the NEXT Group. Working alongside our finance and reporting teams, you will turn operational data into reliable submissions for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders, giving you valuable exposure to environmental reporting in a FTSE 100 business.

The role is offered on an initial 12 month fixed term contract

What You Will Take On

  • Support the delivery of core reporting obligations, including the Annual Report and Accounts, Corporate Responsibility submissions, UK SRS, SECR, and Scopes 1, 2, and 3 carbon accounts

  • Partner with teams across the NEXT Group and our Total Platform partners, such as Reiss, Joules, and FatFace, to coordinate data collection and manage reporting timelines

  • Carry out initial checks on data to maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and compliance before submissions are finalised

  • Assist in developing our sustainability reports and transition plans aligned with CSRD standards

  • Help deliver the external carbon audit process and support assurance on group carbon performance indicators

  • Coordinate meetings, manage project documentation, and help facilitate carbon reporting training for internal teams

What You Will Bring

  • Prior experience or foundational knowledge of corporate sustainability reporting standards and best practice, including GHG Protocol, TCFD, CSRD, GRI, or SASB

  • A genuine interest in working with numbers, with strong analytical skills and an eye for detail

  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks calmly and effectively

  • Clear communication skills and the confidence to collaborate with colleagues across different departments

  • A proactive mindset with the ability to learn new systems and adapt quickly to changing reporting requirements
