Job Title: Senior Data Architect – Finance, Governance & Integration

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to establish a scalable, governed data foundation for enterprise financial reporting and analytics. The candidate will partner with FP&A, accounting, business leadership, and technology teams to define requirements, design financial data models, architect a Snowflake data warehouse, and establish enterprise integration and governance standards.

The role combines business engagement, architecture leadership, and hands-on technical validation using SQL and Python. Pharmaceutical or life sciences experience is strongly preferred, while candidates with substantial enterprise finance data architecture experience in other industries are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops and document financial reporting requirements.
• Define business measures, reporting dimensions, canonical data models, and source-to-target mappings.
• Architect Snowflake data warehouse layers and integration patterns.
• Establish governance, ownership, lineage, data quality, and security standards.
• Use SQL and Python to validate source data, mappings, transformations, and financial reconciliations.
• Define feed contracts, refresh schedules, exception handling, and operational controls.
• Present architecture options and trade-offs to business and technology leaders.
• Guide engineering teams through design reviews, testing, acceptance, and production readiness.
• Develop a prioritized implementation backlog and phased delivery roadmap.

Initial Deliverables

• Prioritized finance reporting requirements and pilot scope.
• Source-system inventory and integration specifications.
• Approved business glossary, financial measures, and reporting dimensions.
• Data governance and ownership operating model.
• Canonical financial data model and Snowflake architecture.
• Reference implementation for integration, transformation, and reconciliation.
• Implementation backlog, acceptance criteria, and phased roadmap.

Success Criteria

• Alignment among finance, accounting, and technology stakeholders on reporting requirements and definitions.
• Validated Snowflake architecture and financial data models.
• Traceable, explainable, and reconcilable financial reporting outputs.
• Defined governance, security, and data quality controls.
• Clear implementation specifications and roadmap for engineering teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile

A senior individual contributor with strong financial data architecture experience, hands-on Snowflake expertise, advanced SQL and Python skills, and the ability to work directly with FP&A and accounting stakeholders. Pharmaceutical or life sciences experience is preferred, especially where finance data intersects with manufacturing, inventory, supply chain, and logistics.
