Job Description

We are looking for Release Train Engineer - Remote / Telecommute for our client in Aliso Viejo, CA.

Job Overview:

Pay Range: $48 hr- $53hr

Requirement/Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Agile project/program delivery.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer (RTE), Senior Scrum Master, Agile Program Manager, or similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience working within a SAFe Agile framework.
  • Proven experience facilitating PI Planning, Scrum of Scrums, ART events, and large-scale Agile initiatives.
  • Experience managing multiple Agile teams and complex program dependencies.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, Lean principles, and software development lifecycle practices.
  • Experience using Agile tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Rally, or similar platforms.
  • Strong risk management, issue resolution, and delivery management capabilities.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, presentation, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the servant leader and chief facilitator for Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
  • Facilitate Program Increment (PI) Planning, ART Syncs, Scrum of Scrums, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt workshops, and other SAFe ceremonies.
  • Coordinate and align multiple Agile teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of program objectives.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, impediments, and cross-team challenges impacting ART execution.
  • Work closely with Product Management, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Architects, and Business Owners to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Promote SAFe principles, Agile best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives across teams.
  • Monitor and track ART performance, predictability, velocity, and program execution metrics.
  • Escalate issues and facilitate resolution through effective stakeholder collaboration.
  • Support roadmap planning, release management, and value delivery across the organization.
  • Foster transparency and communication among teams, leadership, and business stakeholders.
  • Coach teams and stakeholders on Agile and SAFe practices to improve overall delivery effectiveness.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, quality, and team performance.

Nice to Have:

  • SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) Certification.
  • SAFe Agilist (SA), SPC, PMP, PMI-ACP, Certified Scrum Master (CSM), or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience leading cloud, digital transformation, or enterprise modernization programs.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and Agile engineering practices.
  • Experience working in Healthcare, Insurance, Financial Services, or other regulated industries.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders and drive organizational change.
