Job Title: Java Engineer

Role Overview

We are looking for a Java Engineer with strong SQL and backend development skills, AWS experience, and L2/L3 production support expertise. The ideal candidate will also be a proactive problem solver who can understand end-to-end processes, identify inefficiencies, and recommend automation or other technical improvements to the client.

Key Skills and Experience

1. Strong experience with SQL queries; Spark experience is an advantage.
2. Experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices / Python.
3. AWS experience, including services such as Redshift, Aurora, and related technologies.
4. L2/L3 Support experience, including production troubleshooting, incident management, root-cause analysis, and issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain backend applications and services using Java and related technologies.
• Understand existing business workflows, application architecture, and end-to-end processes to identify bottlenecks, recurring issues, and opportunities for optimization.
• Work closely with client stakeholders, business analysts, and technical teams to understand business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Proactively identify opportunities for automation, process simplification, and operational improvements; assess feasibility and recommend solutions to the client.
• Evaluate repetitive manual activities and recommend suitable approaches such as workflow automation, API integration, scripting, or reusable services.
• Participate in technical discussions and solution design, presenting recommendations, trade-offs, and potential benefits clearly to client and delivery teams.
• Support L2/L3 production operations, troubleshoot complex issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend preventive actions.
• Collaborate with QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve test coverage, deployment processes, monitoring, and release quality.
• Document technical designs, process flows, automation opportunities, and recommended improvements.
