Network Engineer - DV Cleared Location: West Midlands / Gloucestershire<br />Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 depending on experience<br />Working Pattern: Full-time, 4-5 days p/w in Tewkesbury, occasional site visits in the West Midlands Clearance:

Current active DV clearance is essential We are supporting a specialist organisation delivering complex projects across highly secure government and defence environments who are looking for a Network Engineer to join the team. You must currently hold active DV clearance to be considered for this position.

Unfortunately, SC clearance, DV eligibility or previously/lapsed DV cannot be considered due to the requirements of the projects. However, you do not need to be a Senior Network Engineer or tick every technical box below.

If you have current DV, a solid foundation in networking and the ability and willingness to develop into some of the more specialist technologies, we would be very interested in speaking with you. What you'll be doing This is a hands-on engineering position supporting secure customer environments.

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities could include:

Installing, configuring and supporting network infrastructure<br />Supporting switches, routers and firewalls<br />Troubleshooting network and connectivity issues<br />Supporting network upgrades and changes<br />Carrying out site installations, audits and technical health checks<br />Preventative maintenance and fault diagnosis<br />Working with customer and internal technical teams to resolve issues<br />Producing and maintaining network and implementation documentation<br />Developing your knowledge across more advanced networking and data-centre technologies<br />Technology environment<br />You do not need experience across all of the following, but experience and exposure to most would be ideal:

Cisco routing and switching<br />Cisco Catalyst switches<br />VLANs, STP and general Layer 2/Layer 3 networking<br />BGP and OSPF<br />HSRP / VRRP<br />Firewalls / network security<br />Cisco Firepower / FTD<br />IPv4 / IPv6<br />QoS and multicast<br />NVIDIA Mellanox switches / Cumulus Linux<br />EVPN / VXLAN / MLAG / leaf-spine networking<br />Linux<br />VMware<br />Ansible / network automation What we're looking for The ideal candidate will have:

Current and active DV clearance – essential<br />Some practical networking/infrastructure engineering experience<br />A foundation in routing, switching, network support or network infrastructure<br />Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills<br />Experience working in, or an understanding of, secure environments<br />Willingness to work across customer sites and develop technically<br />Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel So, if you hold current DV and have most of the technical requirements above, we want to hear from you
