Senior Network Engineer

Senior Network Engineer | £60-£64p/hour (Inside IR35) | London (3 days on site) | Must be open to Saturdays | 6 months (initially) | IoT/ Routing & Switching

Our client is looking for a senior network engineer to strengthen its networking team on an initial 6-month contract. You'll be the escalation point for complex network issues and will take a lead role in delivering changes across a Cisco and Arista estate.

What you'll be doing:

• Acting as a senior, third-line point of contact for network operations and deployment work
• Working through difficult faults with packet capture analysis and structured root cause investigation
• Managing and tuning routing protocols across the estate (OSPF in particular), and configuring and supporting multicast
• Planning, documenting and delivering network changes in line with formal change approval processes, including Saturday change windows
• Supporting IoT connectivity from the network side: VLAN design, routing and access control lists

What we're looking for:

• Around 8 years experience in network engineering, with a record of at least senior/L3
• Deep hands-on routing and switching experience, with strong OSPF knowledge
• Practical experience of both Cisco and Arista hardware
• CCNP as a minimum, CCIE as a nice to have
• Experience of multicast configuration and troubleshooting
• Background in a financial services or similarly regulated environment

Ideal experience:

• Experience supporting IoT devices on an enterprise network, such as segmentation, routing and ACL design
