Staff Software Engineer (HIL/SIL)

Role Overview
Lead the development of the software platform powering Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing ecosystems. This role reports to the manager of the Test SW Platform Team and involves building new HIL and SIL testbeds end-to-end — from requirements definition through architecture and execution — in close collaboration with Test Infra, Electrical Engineering, Firmware, and Software teams.

What You'll Do

• Architect a platform enabling a single test case to run seamlessly across both physical HIL and virtual SIL benches
• Contribute to requirements definition and down-selection of HIL/SIL tooling alternatives
• Develop intuitive UIs enabling cross-functional engineering teams to work efficiently with the platform
• Design robust device drivers for precise control and communication within the HIL system
• Scale SIL cloud infrastructure to support advanced battery simulations
• Troubleshoot complex electrical and software systems using schematics and test equipment to isolate platform-level issues

What You'll Bring

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• 7+ years in software engineering, with a proven track record building HIL/SIL platforms or similar hardware-software interface platforms
• Proficiency in Python, with strong object-oriented design and software architecture background
• Strong electrical engineering foundation — ability to read schematics, debug physical hardware, work with low-level device drivers
• Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (CAN, SPI, UART)
