Job Description

Product Manager – Stormwater / Drainage<br />Bedford / Luton | Hybrid Working<br />£50,000 DOE + £3,000 Bonus + Excellent Benefits<br />You will like<br />Developing innovative stormwater management and sustainable drainage solutions for an established, market-leading manufacturer serving the construction, civil engineering and infrastructure sectors.<br />Based from the Bedford/Luton area with hybrid working, you’ll join a progressive international business committed to innovation, sustainability and responsible water management. You’ll enjoy genuine product ownership, excellent development opportunities and an attractive package including a 34.5-hour working week.<br />You will like<br />The Product Manager / Technical Product Manager role itself, where you will take ownership of an established Storm Water Control (SWC) product portfolio.<br />Combining technical understanding with commercial insight, you’ll help define product strategy, drive product development and ensure solutions remain competitive, compliant and aligned with changing customer and market requirements.<br />Working cross-functionally with R&amp;D, engineering, sales, marketing, production and customers, you will:

  • Drive development and optimisation of the existing stormwater product range
  • Manage product development and improvement projects through R&amp;D
  • Analyse market trends, competitor activity, customer feedback and changing industry standards
  • Translate customer and market requirements into commercially viable product solutions
  • Manage products throughout their lifecycle, including development, optimisation and phase-out
  • Improve product performance, quality and cost-effectiveness
  • Provide technical product and installation support
  • Produce clear technical product specifications, literature and training information
  • Work with marketing to communicate product benefits and positioning
  • Engage with customers, specifiers and industry stakeholders to identify opportunities
  • Support product compliance with relevant environmental and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver product training to colleagues and other stakeholders<br />This is a genuine technical/commercial Product Manager opportunity rather than a purely marketing-led role, with significant scope to influence the future direction of the portfolio.<br />You will have<br />To be successful as Product Manager / Technical Product Manager, you will ideally bring a combination of technical, commercial and project management capability.<br />Experience within stormwater, drainage, SuDS, water management or civil engineering would be particularly relevant, although candidates from associated building products, construction products or technical manufacturing/OEM environments are also encouraged. You will ideally demonstrate:
  • Product management and/or technical product development experience
  • Strong project management skills
  • Technical understanding of engineered products or systems
  • Commercial awareness and market analysis capability
  • Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into product solutions
  • Experience working effectively across multiple departments
  • Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills
