Lamond and Murray Dexis is one of the UK's leading sub-contract gear manufacturers, supplying machine-cut gears up to 2.5 metres in diameter and ground gears up to 1.48 metres in diameter.

The company was established in 1921, to manufacture machinery for the mining industry. Since the 1940's, however, the company has specialised in gear manufacture and has continually invested in plant and machinery and in the extension and improvement of its offices and workshop.

We're excited to offer a brilliant opportunity for a Rotating Equipment Engineer with a passion for rotating equipment and a drive to solve complex technical challenges.

About the role:

We are looking for a hands-on and proactive Rotating Equipment Engineer to play a key role in the day-to-day operation of our workshop, supporting quality, health & safety and environmental objectives. Working with a wide range of gearboxes and pumps, you will be responsible for the dismantling, inspection, reporting, assembly and testing of critical machinery, ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and accuracy.

This role requires an engineer who can confidently interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation, work independently with minimal supervision, and take ownership of delivering safe, reliable, and efficient solutions. You'll be encouraged to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, contribute to best practice across the workshop, and respond effectively to operational and emergency situations when required.

What we're looking for in our Rotating Equipment Engineer:

• Experience working with rotating equipment within an engineering, manufacturing, industrial, process, energy, or maintenance environment
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and asset reliability
• Experience diagnosing faults and carrying out root cause investigations
• Knowledge of pumps, motors, bearings, seals, gearboxes, compressors, and related equipment
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance and reliability-centred maintenance practices
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous improvement
