Job Description

Title: Senior I&C Engineer (team lead) 
Location: Santa Clara, California — On-site
Length: Contract-To-Hire
 

Position Overview
Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer leading a local team of engineers, technicians and programming specialists supporting semiconductor manufacturing facilities in Santa Clara. Covers facility management systems, gas life safety and cabinet monitoring, including PLC/HMI programming and SCADA communications. Includes people management (hiring, reviews, timesheets) plus scope, schedule and budget input to project leadership. Contract to hire, W-2, through Oct 2027.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation or Mechatronics Engineering from a US-accredited institution
Professional Engineer (PE) license — required
Minimum 10 years of directly related experience
Advanced Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000, RSLogix), Siemens (TIA Portal, S7) and Emerson (Machine Edition)
SCADA platforms: Ignition, FactoryTalk, WinCC, Cimplicity
Motion control, robotics and high-speed automation; MES integration, SQL and IIoT
Preferred: industrial cybersecurity basics; troubleshooting, verification and commissioning; AutoCAD; semiconductor or data center field experience
Must be authorized to work in the US (no sponsorship); NDA, background check and 7-panel drug screen (no THC)

Key Responsibilities

Manage the onsite team of engineers, technicians and programming specialists
Provide scope, schedule and budget information to project leadership
Architect full automation solutions: PLC, HMI, SCADA, networks and field devices
Lead HMI/SCADA development with a focus on usability, performance and reliability
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for complex failures and production issues
Coordinate with internal and external global teams; mentor and develop staff
