Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior ServiceNow Developer with 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience and at least 2 years of experience supporting Federal Government projects. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise across ServiceNow ITSM, CMDB/CSDM, integrations, workflow automation, UI development, platform security, and performance optimization.

Required Certifications : 

  1. ServiceNow Certification: CSA Required; CIS Preferred
  2. Clearance: *Public Trust clearances*

Job Summary

The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, configuring, integrating, and optimizing ServiceNow solutions while following ServiceNow development best practices and Federal IT requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, configure, and customize ServiceNow applications and modules based on business and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain solutions within ITSM, including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Knowledge, and related processes.
  • Implement and maintain CMDB and CSDM solutions, including configuration item relationships, data models, and service mapping concepts.
  • Develop integrations between ServiceNow and internal/external enterprise applications using REST, SOAP, APIs, Integration Hub, and other integration technologies.
  • Design and implement automated workflows using Flow Designer, Workflow, Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and related ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Develop and configure solutions using Integration Hub and appropriate spokes/connectors.
  • Build modern ServiceNow user experiences using UI Builder, Service Portal, and related UI technologies.
  • Implement and maintain platform security, including roles, ACLs, authentication, access controls, and security best practices.
  • Analyze and resolve ServiceNow performance issues, including slow transactions, inefficient scripts, integrations, and database queries.
  • Perform performance optimization and application tuning across the ServiceNow platform.
  • Develop reusable and scalable scripts using JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting APIs.
  • Participate in platform upgrades, releases, testing, troubleshooting, and production deployments.
  • Work with business stakeholders, architects, administrators, and other technical teams to translate requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
  • Support AI, automation, and intelligent workflow capabilities within the ServiceNow platform.
  • Evaluate opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency using ServiceNow automation and AI capabilities.
  • Follow ServiceNow development standards, governance, security requirements, and Federal Government compliance practices.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, configuration documentation, integration specifications, and deployment procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience working on Federal Government projects.
  • Strong experience with ServiceNow ITSM.
  • Strong knowledge of CMDB and CSDM.
  • Hands-on experience developing ServiceNow integrations.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and enterprise application integrations.
  • Strong experience with Flow Designer.
  • Hands-on experience with Integration Hub.
  • Experience with UI Builder and modern ServiceNow user interfaces.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow platform security, including ACLs, roles, authentication, and access controls.
  • Experience with ServiceNow performance optimization and troubleshooting.
  • Strong ServiceNow scripting experience using JavaScript.
  • Experience with automation and emerging AI capabilities within ServiceNow.
  • Ability to work with technical and business stakeholders in an enterprise/Federal environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) – Required
  • Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) – Preferred
  • Additional ServiceNow certifications are a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ITOM, ITAM, SecOps, HRSD, or other ServiceNow modules is a plus.
  • Experience with ServiceNow AI/Now Assist or AI-driven automation is preferred.
  • Experience working within Federal Government security, compliance, and governance frameworks is highly desirable.
