Role : QA Lead – Defect Management & Defect Triage

Location : Dallas Onsite

Introduction:

This role involves leading the end-to-end defect management lifecycle, including defect logging, tracking, prioritization, and closure across QA, Development, and business teams. The QA Lead will be responsible for driving daily defect triage calls, collaborating with cross-functional teams to analyze defects, and ensuring accurate documentation in tools like JIRA / Azure DevOps. Additionally, the QA Lead will mentor QA team members on best practices in defect tracking, root cause analysis, and quality processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end defect management lifecycle, including logging, tracking, prioritization, and closure across QA, Dev, and business teams.
• Drive daily defect triage calls, ensuring proper severity/priority assignment, root cause discussion, and timely resolution.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze defects, identify trends, and implement preventive measures.
• Ensure accurate documentation in tools like JIRA / Azure DevOps, maintaining defect metrics, SLAs, and reporting dashboards.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to escalate critical issues, manage risks, and ensure release readiness.
• Mentor QA team members on best practices in defect tracking, root cause analysis, and quality processes.
