POSITION SUMMARY
As a key member of our Quality Assurance team, you will be responsible for leading inspection of production quality activities in the Production Department while ensuring safety, quality, customer satisfaction, asset preservation and productivity.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Coordinates the daily activities of the department and unionized quality assurance inspectors in supporting production to ensure quality buses, on-time and on budget.
- Provides direction and guidance to the team and ensures established goals and objectives are met.
- Responsible for ensuring all inspection activities are completed to required standards and specifications and ensures corrective actions and non-conformances are completed to plan.
- Coordinates the investigation of area quality ‘escapes’ and associated corrective actions, working with Production, Manufacturing Engineering and Design Engineering departments.
- Ensures plant quality objectives are met and supports all work cells.
- Identifies training requirements and ensures continual development of unionized employees to meet the changing facility needs.
- Responsible for the training, development, and performance of inspection staff.
- Produces and maintains quality indicators and leads the continuous improvement on internal and external product quality.
- Quality liaison to property inspectors, internal-external customers, suppliers, and visitors.
- Leads quality problems resolution with involved departments and customer’s follow up to ensure corrective and permanent actions are implemented.
- Works proactively by performing consistent process audits to critical installation and develops and implements control plans.
- Responsible for quality inspector shift planning and vacation.
- Maintains consistency and conformance to the collective agreement and develops a working relationship with the bargaining unit representatives to resolve issues at the earliest stages of the grievance process.

o FSAR feedback
o QA Records
o SCAN’s
o IPR’s
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
· Post-secondary education in related field is preferred or combination of education and experience.
· Five years of progressive quality experience with more than three years at a supervisor level.
· Motivated self-starter with capabilities to multitask and work within a fast-paced team-oriented environment.
· Ability to communicate at all levels throughout the organization with strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
· Strong organizational, analytical, and leadership skills.
· Ability to influence change within the organization by leveraging leadership skills and techniques.
· ASQ professional certification or greenbelt certification preferred.
