Position Summary
This role supports the Office of Information Management Systems at the Ohio Department of Health, providing expert MuleSoft integration development and enterprise architecture services. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, API-led connectivity, DataWeave transformation, and enterprise integration governance.

What You'll Do

• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture artifacts — API design standards, data mapping/transformation guidelines, integration policies, security controls, and architectural position papers
• Assess and redesign the Electronic Lab Data ingress architecture, identifying performance bottlenecks and reusability gaps, and deliver an updated design that improves throughput and reduces latency
• Update MuleSoft APIs for FIPS 140-3 compliance and JVM 17 compatibility
• Plan and execute end-to-end migration of all MuleSoft APIs to CloudHub 2.0, ensuring minimal disruption and validated post-migration functionality
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, business analysts, and development teams to translate business requirements into integration solutions
• Enforce MuleSoft API governance policies, versioning standards, and lifecycle management
• Monitor integration performance metrics and proactively resolve throughput, latency, and reliability issues
• Develop and maintain technical documentation — architecture diagrams, runbooks, integration specs
• Write and maintain MUnit test suites for API correctness, resilience, and regression coverage
• Mentor and share MuleSoft/integration knowledge with State IT staff

Skills & Experience

• Expertise in MuleSoft Anypoint Platform — API design, development, and deployment
• Strong experience with API-led connectivity and the three-layer architecture (Experience, Process, System APIs)
• Proficiency in DataWeave 2.0 for data transformation and mapping
• Experience designing and governing enterprise integration architectures and API standards
• Knowledge of FIPS 140-3 compliance and secure API development practices
• Experience with CloudHub 2.0 deployment, networking, and operational best practices
• Familiarity with JVM 17 compatibility and API runtime upgrades
• Experience with integration security controls — OAuth 2.0, TLS/mTLS, API policies
• Experience with MUnit for automated API testing
• Knowledge of Anypoint Monitoring, Visualizer, and API Analytics
• Experience developing migration plans and integration roadmaps at enterprise scale
• Strong organizational and analytical skills, managing multiple concurrent integration initiatives
• Excellent communication skills across business and technical teams

Required Qualifications

• 3-5 years of MuleSoft integration development and enterprise architecture experience
• 3+ years developing MuleSoft integrations using Anypoint Platform
• 3+ years designing and implementing API-led connectivity solutions
• 3+ years with CloudHub or CloudHub 2.0 deployment and operations
• 3+ years with DataWeave 2.0 data transformation and mapping
• 2+ years working in an Agile/Scrum delivery environment
• 4-year college degree or equivalent technical study
