Quality Technician / Quality Assurance Technician

1st Shift | Contract Opportunity
Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support Quality Assurance, Engineering, Customer Service, and global Product Expertise Centers in the evaluation of product quality, auditing activities, and resolution of non-conforming materials. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products meet established quality standards while supporting investigations, documentation, and communication related to quality issues.

The ideal candidate will have experience performing inspections, interpreting technical drawings, conducting dimensional analysis, and working within a manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to maintain accurate records are essential for success in this position.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Evaluation
  • Inspect and evaluate materials, components, and complex assemblies for conformance to drawings, specifications, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform dimensional inspections and product evaluations using appropriate measurement and analysis equipment.
  • Identify, document, and assist in resolving non-conforming materials, products, and processes.
  • Support product audits and quality evaluations to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Generate material certifications and related documentation to support product compliance.
Investigation & Problem Resolution
  • Support Quality Engineers with root cause investigations of manufacturing defects and customer-returned products.
  • Assist in identifying and communicating quality concerns, trends, and corrective actions.
  • Evaluate inspection findings and provide recommendations for resolution.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams to resolve technical issues.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Accurately record inspection results and maintain detailed quality records.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and data presentations related to quality findings and investigations.
  • Submit and track returned product exhibits to global Expertise Centers in a timely manner.
  • Communicate quality results and technical findings to internal and external stakeholders.
Collaboration & Training
  • Partner with Quality, Engineering, Customer Service, and Manufacturing teams to support quality initiatives.
  • Provide effective verbal and written communication regarding quality concerns and resolutions.
  • Train team members on quality processes, inspection methods, and essential tasks.
  • Support a collaborative team environment focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate's degree, Technical Degree, formal technical training, or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection, quality assurance, manufacturing, or a related technical role.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Experience utilizing dimensional inspection and measurement equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general computer systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining strong teamwork and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two-year or four-year Technical Degree.
  • Experience supporting root cause analysis and corrective action activities.
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Experience generating certificates of compliance and quality documentation.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, audits, and continuous improvement methodologies.
