Role: Lead Software Engineer (AWS Cloud Engineer + Java Applications)
Location: Washington, DC (Remote)

Job Summary:
Seeking a hands-on Senior/Lead Software Engineer to support the modernization and migration of existing on-prem applications to AWS. The role will focus on cloud readiness, application development, integration, deployment, and technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Migrate and modernize on-prem applications for AWS.
  • Develop technical solutions and participate in architecture decisions.
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor developers.
  • Identify technical risks and improve application performance.
  • Collaborate with Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Project Managers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years hands-on experience with: AWS, EKS, Kubernetes, Istio, Helm Charts, and OAuth 2.0.
  • Strong Java application development experience.
  • Cloud migration / modernization experience.
  • Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and SDLC.
  • Experience with application integration, deployment, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong understanding of DevSecOps and software architecture.
  • Experience with databases such as Oracle, SQL, MongoDB, or PostgreSQL.
  • Strong technical leadership, stakeholder communication, and mentoring skills.
