Sales & Account Manager – Construction
East NJ – Primarily Field-Based
$75K - $100K Base Salary + Commission
Overview
A growing Brooklyn-based masonry and exterior construction company is looking for a driven Sales & Account Manager with proven construction sales experience to develop and grow its New Jersey market. Previous sales experience within the construction industry is required. Candidates should have experience selling construction services, materials, or related solutions.

This person will take full ownership of building the territory, aggressively pursuing new opportunities, developing relationships with general contractors, and driving new revenue. This role combines new business development with ongoing account management. The right person will own customer relationships beyond the initial sale, staying involved through project completion, ensuring customer satisfaction, addressing issues, and building relationships that lead to repeat business.

The ideal candidate is hungry, proactive, highly accountable, and respectful, with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through. Responsibilities
Develop new business throughout the East NJ market. Aggressively identify and pursue new construction opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors and other industry contacts. Conduct consistent prospecting, outreach, and field-based business development. Identify potential projects and job sites while traveling throughout the territory.

Coordinate with the estimator on proposals and follow opportunities through closing. Take ownership of customer accounts from initial outreach through project completion and repeat business. Coordinate with the Project Manager to ensure customers remain informed and supported throughout each project. Serve as a customer liaison, proactively addressing questions and issues as they arise. Follow up on customer satisfaction and identify opportunities for additional and repeat business. Assist with payment and collection follow-up when needed.

Track and report sales activity, proposals, signed projects, and revenue generated. Qualifications
Proven construction sales and business development experience. Strong knowledge of the construction industry and construction sales process. Demonstrated track record of generating and closing new business. Aggressive, proactive, and results-driven approach to sales. Strong sense of ownership and accountability for results. Strong prospecting, networking, and relationship-building skills. Respectful and professional approach to customers and business relationships.

Highly customer-focused, with a commitment to customer satisfaction and repeat business. Strong follow-through and willingness to stay involved beyond the initial sale. Organized and numbers-driven, with the ability to track and report on sales performance. Experience selling to general contractors, builders, developers, or other construction clients preferred. 2+ years of construction sales experience. Construction services/materials/related solutions. Performance/earning motivated. Hungry to build territory/make it own.
