Job Description

Netzschutztechniker / Inbetriebnahmetechniker Umspannwerke m/w/d | Dortmund, Germany | Hybrid

We're hiring for a company that is a significant player in the energy infrastructure sector, contributing directly to the green transition. This organization is known for its commitment to innovation and fostering a collaborative work environment. They are looking for a dedicated professional to join their High Voltage / Substations business unit.

The Role

  • Lead commissioning and testing for medium, high, and extra-high voltage substations up to 380kV within Western Germany.
  • Analyze and resolve faults in protection and control systems, collaborating with internal expert teams.
  • Program and parameterize high-tech protection and field control devices from leading manufacturers (Siemens, Schneider, ABB).
  • Commission digital protection and control technology using state-of-the-art testing equipment (e.g., OMICROM).
  • Contribute to new construction and modernization projects of substations, including renewable energy integration.
  • Actively participate in projects related to energy transmission, distribution, and grid connection for industrial and renewable energy parks.

What You'll Need

  • Completed vocational training in Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven expertise in protection/control technology, ideally with independent commissioning experience of switchgear.
  • Familiarity with common communication standards (IEC 60870-5-101/103/104).
  • Experience with parameterization software (e.g., Siemens DIGSI, Schneider MICOM S1) and testing software (e.g., OMICROM TestUniverse) is advantageous.
  • Strong teamwork, responsibility, decision-making, and communication skills, with excellent German proficiency.
  • Possess a valid driver's license (Class B) and willingness to travel (typically Mon-Thu) within Western Germany.
