Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Engineer with strong banking and payment systems expertise, including hands-on experience testing SWIFT, Fedwire, ACH, and Real-Time Payments (RTP). The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of banking operations, payment processing workflows, financial transactions, and end-to-end testing of payment systems.

The candidate will be responsible for developing and executing test strategies, validating payment transactions, identifying defects, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and security of banking payment applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for banking and payment applications.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing of payment processing systems.
• Validate payment transactions across multiple payment rails, including:
• SWIFT: International payments, payment messages, and cross-border transactions.
• Fedwire: Domestic wire transfers and high-value payment processing.
• ACH: Automated Clearing House transactions, including ACH credits, debits, and batch processing.
• Real-Time Payments (RTP): Instant payment processing, transaction validation, and immediate payment confirmations.
• Verify payment initiation, processing, routing, settlement, acknowledgments, and transaction status updates.
• Validate payment messages, transaction fields, business rules, and data mapping across upstream and downstream systems.
• Test positive and negative scenarios, exception handling, duplicate payments, rejected transactions, reversals, and failed payment scenarios.
• Perform end-to-end testing across payment applications, banking systems, interfaces, and external payment networks.
• Validate transaction accuracy, reconciliation results, and payment processing outcomes.
• Identify, document, track, and manage defects using defect management tools.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and banking operations teams to resolve issues.
• Support test data preparation, defect triage, test execution reporting, and release validation.
• Ensure payment workflows comply with applicable banking standards, business requirements, and operational controls.
• Participate in requirement reviews, test planning, and Agile ceremonies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance (QA), software testing, or banking application testing.
• Strong knowledge of the banking and financial services domain, particularly payment processing.
• Hands-on testing experience with multiple payment rails, including SWIFT, Fedwire, ACH, and Real-Time Payments.
• Good understanding of domestic and international payment workflows.
• Experience testing payment messages, transaction validation, settlement, reconciliation, and exception handling.
• Strong experience in functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
• Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, ALM, or equivalent.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced banking environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on payment modernization or banking transformation projects.
• Knowledge of SWIFT MT and ISO 20022 MX payment messaging standards.
• Familiarity with payment formats such as Fedwire Funds Service messages and ACH/NACHA file formats.
• Experience with SQL and database validation for payment transaction testing.
• Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
• Experience with test automation frameworks is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and financial services compliance requirements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is an experienced banking QA professional who understands payment processing from initiation through settlement and has practical testing experience across several payment rails. Candidates with strong hands-on exposure to SWIFT, Fedwire, ACH, and Real-Time Payments will be preferred.
