Job Description

We’re hiring an experienced Multi-Axis CNC Lathe Programmer to join a rapidly growing, high-end precision manufacturer supporting aerospace, defense, and other advanced industries.

This is a multi-campus manufacturing operation in the San Jose area with modern, climate-controlled facilities, advanced CNC technology, and significant growth plans. The company is continuing to invest in its equipment, capabilities, and people as it takes on increasingly complex aerospace and defense programs.

This role is ideal for a programmer who wants to work on complex, tight-tolerance components rather than repetitive production. You’ll own jobs from print/model through programming, tooling and workholding strategy, prove-out, first article, and production optimization.

Logistics & Compensation:

  • $40-52/hr depending on experience
  • First Shift
  • 50-hour workweek with consistent overtime
  • Performance bonuses paid twice annually

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, prove out, and optimize programs for multi-axis CNC lathes and mill-turn equipment
  • Program complex turning operations including live tooling, C/Y-axis machining, sub-spindle work, threading, grooving, boring, drilling, and milling
  • Develop complete machining strategies from CAD models, engineering drawings, and GD&T
  • Select tooling, inserts, workholding, speeds, feeds, and operation sequences
  • Support machine setups, first articles, and new-part prove-outs
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, workholding, dimensional, and machining issues directly on the shop floor
  • Optimize processes to improve cycle time, tool life, setup time, repeatability, and scrap
  • Partner with machinists, engineering, and quality to successfully move new jobs into production
  • 7+ years of CNC machining/programming experience
  • Strong experience programming multi-axis CNC lathes or mill-turn machines
  • Strong G-code and CAM programming knowledge
  • Experience with Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tooling, workholding, speeds/feeds, and tight-tolerance machining
  • Ability to independently develop a machining process from print/model through production
  • Comfortable working directly at the machine during setup, prove-out, and troubleshooting
  • Aerospace, defense, medical device, semiconductor, or similar high-precision manufacturing experience preferred
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k) + match
  • PTO
