GenAI Engineer

Title: AI / Software Engineer

Location: Englewood cliff, NJ- Onsite - Only Locals

Duration: 12+ Months

Role purpose

Provide hands-on local engineering support for requirements clarification, prototyping, demonstrations, feature development, and coordination with stakeholders and the offshore delivery team.

Key responsibilities

• Clarify business and technical requirements with stakeholders.
• Build prototypes, proof-of-concepts, AI features, integrations, and workflow applications.
• Develop and enhance GenAI applications, enterprise assistants, AI agents, RAG solutions, and conversational workflows.
• Implement backend services, APIs, microservices, data integrations, and automation using Python and related technologies.
• Contribute to frontend and workflow application development using React or comparable modern frameworks.
• Support document ingestion, parsing, extraction, retrieval, evaluation, and knowledge-based enhancement.
• Integrate enterprise systems, APIs, vector databases, embedding pipelines, and approved AI services.
• Prepare demonstrations, collect feedback, and convert validated requirements into production-ready features.
• Collaborate with offshore engineers and QA resources on implementation, testing, defect resolution, and release preparation.
• Follow Client s development, security, source-control, documentation, and deployment standards.
• Support production stabilization, troubleshooting, and knowledge transfer as required.

Required qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience in software engineering, AI application development, or full-stack engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, APIs, backend services, and enterprise application development.
• Experience with GenAI, LLM APIs, RAG, prompt/workflow engineering, AI agents, or conversational applications.
• Familiarity with React, JavaScript/TypeScript, microservices, cloud platforms, databases, and enterprise integrations.
• Experience with data ingestion, document processing, vector databases, embeddings, or knowledge bases is desirable.
• Understanding of automated testing, AI evaluation, security, logging, and production support.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with business and technical stakeholders.
