AI Agent Engineer

Introduction:

We are seeking an experienced AI / Agent Engineer with strong LaunchDarkly expertise to lead the design, development, integration, and deployment of AI-driven agent solutions within a modern, scalable technology environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and orchestrating AI agents, integrating LaunchDarkly for feature management and controlled rollouts, and implementing robust telemetry and observability capabilities. This role requires a strong combination of software engineering, AI solution development, experimentation, and technical leadership.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of AI agents and agentic workflows.
• Build and orchestrate AI-driven workflows involving large language models (LLMs), tool calling, APIs, and external systems.
• Design scalable, reliable, and maintainable agent architectures with appropriate error handling, fallback mechanisms, and performance controls.
• Integrate AI agents into enterprise applications and existing technology platforms.
• Lead the integration of LaunchDarkly into AI-enabled applications and services.
• Implement feature flags, progressive rollouts, canary releases, and controlled feature deployments.
• Configure feature targeting and environment-specific feature management to support safe experimentation and release strategies.
• Design and implement comprehensive observability solutions for AI agents and distributed applications.
• Establish structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics collection, and monitoring.
• Support production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements.

Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

• 10-15 years of overall experience in software engineering, platform engineering, solution development, or related technical roles.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing AI agents, agentic workflows, or AI-powered enterprise applications.
• Strong understanding of AI agent orchestration, LLM integrations, tool calling, workflow management, and API integrations.
• Practical experience integrating LaunchDarkly for feature flagging, feature targeting, controlled rollouts, and feature lifecycle management.
• Strong experience with telemetry and observability, including logging, metrics, distributed tracing, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience implementing experimentation strategies, A/B testing, and data-driven feature evaluation.
• Ability to create and maintain architecture diagrams, technical design documents, integration specifications, and other technical deliverables.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals, including API design, distributed systems, integration patterns, and production application development.
• Experience providing technical leadership, conducting design and code reviews, and guiding engineering teams.
• Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in financial services, banking, wealth management, payments, or other regulated enterprise environments.
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks and orchestration tools such as LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, or comparable technologies.
• Experience with OpenTelemetry or similar observability frameworks.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices.
• Understanding of AI evaluation, prompt management, model performance monitoring, and production AI reliability.
• Experience implementing governance, auditability, access controls, and security practices for enterprise AI applications.
• Familiarity with experimentation platforms, product analytics, and feature performance measurement.
