The Role

• Collaborate with bid teams to understand requirements and flow them down to operations and supply chain.
• Generate high-impact, cost-effective estimates for winning proposals.
• Support customer and supplier fact-finding exercises related to estimates.
• Influence key bid decisions and contribute to process improvement by analyzing durations.
• Track material costs and build times to determine true production costs as designs evolve.
• Ensure achievable timescales are agreed for the provision of estimates.

What You'll Need

• Demonstrated ability to create detailed Manufacturing Build Instructions, SOPs, and tooling/fixturing designs.
• Understanding of design transition from development to full-scale manufacturing, including Design for Manufacture (DFM).
• Proven experience using systems like SAP, Oracle, or Epicor to manage complex Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience in calculating resourcing profiles and ensuring the right mix of skills.
• Relevant engineering discipline qualification or equivalent experience, with a CIPS qualification being advantageous.
• Ability to articulate the content and basis of estimates professionally during bid reviews.
