In this prestigious chair, you will lead world-class scholarship in Equity and Trusts at Melbourne Law School. You will shape curriculum, mentor researchers, and strengthen global collaborations across leading law schools and institutions. You will influence contemporary private law debates and enhance Melbourne Law School's international reputation.

What you will deliver:
  • Lead pioneering research in Equity and Trusts, producing high-impact publications and securing competitive research funding.
  • Design and deliver outstanding teaching in JD and postgraduate programmes, innovating curriculum in Equity and Trusts.
  • Supervise and mentor PhD and higher degree students, nurturing the next generation of private law scholars.
  • Provide collegial leadership within Melbourne Law School, fostering collaboration across disciplines, centres and international partners.
  • Engage widely with profession, government and community, enhancing public understanding of Equity and Trusts.
You may be a great fit if you:
  • Hold a good first degree in law and a doctoral qualification in a relevant legal field.
  • Bring significant expertise in Equity and Trusts, including deep knowledge of doctrines, institutions and contemporary developments.
  • Demonstrate an outstanding international reputation through a substantial publication record and collaborative research leadership.
  • Offer extensive experience in graduate-level teaching, curriculum design and student advising within tertiary legal education.
  • Provide evidence of mentoring PhD candidates and early career academics, supporting their research impact and career progression.
  • Exhibit strong leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills, with capacity to shape strategic direction in private law.
