Healthcare Business Analyst

Location: Richardson, TX (Hybrid)

Contract

We are seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to drive requirements gathering, business process mapping, and functional analysis for a high-priority enterprise modernization initiative. In this role, you will analyze legacy VB.NET application workflows and translate them into future-state functional requirements for a modern Java Spring Boot, ReactJS, and IBM Cognos Analytics platform.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Management: Gather, articulate, document, and manage business, functional, non-functional, and reporting requirements throughout the migration lifecycle.

Workflow & Process Mapping: Analyze existing legacy VB.NET application logic and business processes, translating them into clear future-state workflows and technical specifications.

Agile Delivery Support: Author comprehensive user stories, business process flows, detailed use cases, and clear acceptance criteria for engineering teams.

Reporting Modernization: Collaborate with business stakeholders and BI developers to map the migration of legacy Crystal Reports to modern IBM Cognos BI dashboards and reports.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate requirements workshops, review sessions, and alignment meetings with business stakeholders, developers, software architects, and QA teams. Testing & UAT: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) planning, coordinate execution, document feedback, and assist in resolving functional defects.

Required Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years of Business Analyst experience leading requirements engineering for complex enterprise software applications.
Modernization Background: Proven track record working on application modernization, system migration, or legacy refactoring initiatives.
Elicitation & Process Modeling: Mastery of requirements gathering methodologies, process mapping, and translating complex business rules into actionable developer specifications.
Domain & Technical Acumen: Ability to bridge communication between business leaders and technical teams delivering microservices, modern frontends, and embedded BI tools.
